The 40-year exhibition to set up Con Dao Special National Monument

In activities to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the establishment of Con Dao National Special Monument, in the morning of April 26, at the relics of Lord Island, the provincial Department of Culture and Information in cooperation with Con Dao district held the opening ceremony with the theme "40 years of establishing Con Dao Special National Monument".
Attending the exhibition were comrades: Nguyen Minh Triet, former Politburo member, former President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam; Truong My Hoa, former Secretary of the Party Central Committee, former PCT of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam; Nguyen Hong Linh, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; Nguyen Thi Yen, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Provincial Parliament Delegation; Nguyen Van Trinh, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; leaders of departments, former political prisoners and leaders of Con Dao district.
The exhibition displayed nearly 300 documents and pictures about the heroic struggle history of revolutionary soldiers and Vietnamese patriots during 113 years in Con Dao Prison system and achievements in the work of security exist, embellish and promote the value of Con Dao Special National Monument area; along with the construction and development of Con Dao today. The exhibition is divided into 4 topics including: Con Dao revolutionary struggle school; the work of preserving, embellishing and promoting the value of the Relic Site; silent flowers; promote the value of monuments associated with economic development, culture - society Con Dao district.
Through the exhibition to introduce the public to the Con Dao prison system as well as the resilient struggle of the prisoner generations in the harshness of prison; introduce conservation work, promote historical values ​​as well as development and change of Con Dao in 44 years after liberation.
After visiting the exhibition, the delegates went to visit the relics of the newly restored Lord's Island, embellished and put into service for the needs of visiting and studying of tourists.
