Six Senses Con Dao, a luxury resort in Vietnam, has just been awarded the 2024 Global Recognition Award for outstanding quality in sustainable hotel services.
On November 30, Vietnam Airlines collaborated with Ben Dam Port Management Board, Vietnam Coast Guard 33, and Residential Area No. 10 of Con Dao District to conduct training sessions aimed at increasing awareness of plastic waste sorting among locals. The "Green Living Festival," organized by the Department of Information and Communications of Ba Ria - Vung Tau Province in collaboration with the Con Dao District People's Committee, aims to promote environmental protection and sustainable development of the islands in Ba Ria - Vung Tau for 2024, under the theme "For a Green Sea and Island," will officially take place on December 17 in Con Dao District.
Ms. Vo Thi Van, Head of the Management Board of Con Dao National Tourism Area, said that in order to extend the length of stay, increase room capacity and revenue during the low tourist season, Con Dao district has announced packages of room discounts, train tickets, and event schedules, festivals taking place from now until early 2025.
The total number of tourists to Con Dao in the first 9 months is estimated at around 556,125, reaching 94.9% of the annual plan and achieving 100.42% compared to the same period in 2023. Of which: International tourists accounted for about 20,871, reaching 122.77% of the annual plan and achieving 160.04% compared to the same period in 2023. The total estimated revenue is about 2,083.157 billion VND, reaching 99.77% of the annual plan and achieving 104.6% compared to the same period in 2023.
Following Plan No. 43 dated January 26, 2024, from the Con Dao District People's Committee, which promotes and mobilizes individuals and organizations to "Say no to the burning of paper offerings at sites and monuments in the district, contributing to building a civilized, green - clean - beautiful Con Dao".

On May 17, 2024, the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism signed Decision No. 1336/QD-BVHTTDL to recognize Con Dao as a national tourism site in Ba Ria-Vung Tau province.
