When taking the passenger ship to Con Dao and leaving Ben Dam port, if you turn right towards the city center, you will come across Sunrise Coffee, also known as the "Place to catch the sunrise in Con Dao". If you turn left towards the National Park, you will find Sunset Bus Coffee, a place where many tourists wait for the sunset over the sea.
Both coffee shops are about 1km away from the city center and Con Dao National Park, located by the coast, offering stunning views and beautiful check-in spots.
"In the morning, go to Sunrise Coffee; in the evening, visit Sunset Bus Coffee. Enjoy a cup of coffee, listen to the sound of the waves and the singing breeze, and wait for the magnificent sunrise and sunset over the sea. Life doesn't get any more beautiful and poetic than this," commented Mr. Ngoc, a tourist from Ho Chi Minh City.
Mr. Ngoc mentioned that he visits Con Dao almost every year, particularly to visit Hang Duong Cemetery. This year, he and his friends had the additional experience of enjoying the sunrise and sunset at these two stunning outdoor coffee shops.
Sunrise Coffee attracts tourists and couples with its romantic setting, featuring a lovers' swing, a giant lovebird nest, and beautiful "Instagrammable" corners overlooking the sea, with a distant view of the central area of Con Son Bay, and Hon Bay Canh.
Not only a beautiful check-in spot, "The Place to catch the sunrise in Con Dao" also attracts tourists with its delicate and "soulful beauty" reflected in its environmentally-friendly approach, from the furniture made from recycled materials to the use of reusable or non-plastic utensils.
Mr. Nguyen Hoang Phuong, the manager, stated that the coffee shop was opened at the beginning of 2024 as a pilot project for the circular economy model of the Management Board of Con Dao National Tourist Area. Therefore, all the items in the shop are made from recycled materials, such as the counter made from an old shipping container, tables and chairs made from old truck wheels or wooden logs, and cups and straws made from paper. The shop does not use plastic items, nor does it allow guests to use plastic or nylon bags inside.

"When guests bring food in nylon bags, our staff cleverly replaces them with bamboo plates and paper bags. Over time, guests will develop a habit of not using plastic or using reusable items multiple times to protect the environment," said Mr. Phuong

According to the Management Board of Con Dao National Tourist Area, in this pilot project, tourists not only enjoy the pure and pristine beauty of nature, admire the vast blue sea and long stretches of white sand, and experience the majestic mountains and lush greenery of Con Dao's diverse wildlife, but also learn about and raise awareness about the harmful effects of using nylon bags and disposable plastic products. They also learn how to conserve the biodiversity of Con Dao's forests and seas, together with local efforts to protect the environment and preserve the natural landscape here.

Mr. Stephen, a tourist from Switzerland, and his wife visited Sunset Bus Coffee to "hunt" for the sunset over the sea. They came yesterday but couldn't see the sun setting into the sea due to cloudy weather, so they decided to come again today.
Mr. Stephen shared that he and his wife have been traveling in Vietnam for three weeks, visiting Hanoi, Da Nang, Nha Trang, and finally Con Dao yesterday. "My wife and I love Con Dao not only because it is incredibly beautiful but also because it is so green and clean, which shows that you all have a strong environmental awareness," said Stephen.
