Over 700 runners participated in the Con Dao Run Challenge, joining hands to reduce plastic waste.

In response to "World Ocean Day" and "Vietnam Sea and Island Week ", on the morning of June 8th, at Con Dao National Park, Ma Thien Lanh street, Con Dao district (Ba Ria-Vung Tau province), Secret Sport Events Joint Stock Company, in collaboration with the Management Board of Con Dao National Park, organized the Con Dao Run Challenge 2024 - the first edition of the event for the year 2024.
01 day prior to the race, athletes had the opportunity to explore Con Dao and receive their race bibs at Con Dao National Park. The athletes had the chance to exchange and share experiences for the race on the morning of June 8th. During the EXPO event that day, the Management Board of Con Dao National Park, in collaboration with WWF-Vietnam, set up a booth to introduce the Green Handprint Challenge. This challenge is part of a series of plastic reduction activities in Con Dao in 2024. We were delighted to receive positive responses from everyone through articles, photos, and plastic reduction actions in Con Dao. After the EXPO event, the Management Board of Con Dao National Park received a great number of positive shares and images of athletes' plastic reduction journey in Con Dao, especially from international athletes.

Con Dao offers unique running routes that cannot be found elsewhere.
 
With the message "Con Dao - A No Plastic Waste Destination ", the Con Dao Run Challenge 2024 is an international running event that brought together nearly 700 domestic and international runners. All runners in the race did not use plastic cups or bottles along the race route. This effort contributes to environmental protection and circular economy promotion that Con Dao aims to develop in the future. Our Green Handprint Challenge has received great enthusiasm from people through their shared articles, photos, and plastic reduction actions in Con Dao.
The Con Dao Run Challenge 2024 is part of the Ba Ria - Vung Tau Discovery Run series, organized with a medium scale, and is a combination of running and natural discovery. It takes place at fixed times throughout the year, showcasing the unique characteristics of the region. The event focuses on the experience and emotions of the runners and is operated professionally as a mass running event. Each running route not only meets technical standards but also reflects the local cultural characteristics, contributing to improving the community health and promoting cultural values.

 

 
The runners will conquer distances of 6km, 20km, 32km, and 55km. Runners will have the unique opportunity to experience the most breathtaking running routes in Vietnam, including coastal paths, mountain trails, and sandy tracks, all coming together in the Con Dao Run Challenge 2024. After experiencing these remarkable routes, it is certain to create a completely different experience compared to other running races in Vietnam. The runners are excited about the Green Handprint Challenge.
The Con Dao Run Challenge 2024 is a special running event as every step taken by the athletes is a commitment to "Say No to Plastic". Everything that the Con Dao Run Challenge leaves behind will surely be memories, emotions, and smiles of triumph as they reach the finish line on their journey to explore the beautiful routes of Con Dao in 2024.

"This is an amazing experience for me as it's my first time in Con Dao. I have challenged myself and discovered such a clean and beautiful destination. I hope that Con Dao will always maintain its fresh green color." The male champion in the 20km category with BIB number 20035, Mr. Nguyen Chi Nguyen from Ho Chi Minh City, shared.
 
These are the two most exceptional athletes of this year's Côn Đảo Run Challenge season. They are both over 70 years old but their passion for sports has brought them to Côn Đảo. 'It is also their first time traveling to Côn Đảo, where the air is pure, and the blue sea is incredibly beautiful. It is a sacred place for our fallen heroes. We look forward to meeting Côn Đảo again soon,' shared Mr. Phan Trắc, a 6km distance runner."
