How to travel to Con Dao in 2024

It can be said that the period from Tet to the end of summer is the ideal time for traveling to Con Dao. From March to October is the time when the sea is calm with less wind. This time is considered suitable for you to explore the sea, dive to admire coral reefs, and discover Con Dao National Park. Currently, there are two means of transportation that you can choose to get to this beautiful island: high-speed passenger boats and airplanes.
1. Airplanes

* Can Tho <=> Con Dao island 
- Duration: 45 minutes
- Only 1 trip per day
- Ticket price: Approximately 1,500,000 to 1,900,000 VND (Varies depending on the time of travel)
- Departure point: Can Tho International Airport, Tra An Ward and Thoi An Dong Ward, Binh Thuy District - Can Tho City
- Destination: Con Son Airport (Con Dao District, Ba Ria - Vung Tau Province)
2. Helicopter
In addition to flights operated by domestic airlines using civilian aircraft, you can also travel to Con Dao by helicopter, which is operated by the Southern Helicopter Company.

Currently, there is only one direct flight from Vung Tau to Con Dao operating by helicopter with a frequency of 2 flights per week (on Fridays and Sundays). The total flight time for helicopter flights to Con Dao is 60 minutes per flight.

3.1 From Tran De (Soc Trang) to Con Dao
a. Superdong Ferry

• Travel time is approximately 1 hour and 20 minutes to reach Ben Dam Port in Con Dao.
• Ticket price: from 280,000 - 370,000 VND per person per ticket.


b. Phú Quốc Express Ferry - Phu Quoc Express, a modern and top-quality fleet in Vietnam.
- Travel time: about 2 hours.
- Departure time: 8:30 AM.
- Ticket price: ranging from 390,000 - 590,000 VND per person per ticket, depending on economy or business class.


3.2 From Vung Tau to Con Dao
- Phu Quoc Express ferry departs daily, including holidays and light rain
- Departure time: 8:00
- Travel time: about 3 hours and 15 minutes under favorable weather conditions.
- Ticket prices: ranging from 790,000 – 1,200,000 VND per person, depending on age and economy or business class seating.
Note on ticket prices:
- Free ticket for children under 5 years old sitting with an adult
- Children aged 6-11, elderly over 60: 700,000 VND (Monday to Sunday), 550,000 VND (Tuesday to Friday)
- VIP ticket prices do not apply to discounts for the elderly and children." - Mai Linh Express is a new high-speed ferry company; departure time is at 7:30 AM, with arrival at 12:00 PM

Instructions on how to book train and flight tickets to Con Dao
- Travelers can directly visit the ticket office of the company, choose the departure time and purchase tickets. It is recommended to buy tickets earlier than the departure time to avoid sold-out situations.
- If booking online, call the hotline number or visit the website to select the date, departure time, and provide complete passenger information.
- It is advisable to arrive at least 40 minutes before departure.
