The Golden Bridge in the central city of Da Nang wins the world's leading iconic tourist bridge category at the 2021 World Travel Awards.
The bridge, which is 150 metres long and 12.8 metres wide, is located at the Sun World Ba Na Hills Resort in the Truong Son mountain range. Designed by architect Vu Viet Anh and his team, the Golden Bridge first opened to tourists in June 2018, and quickly became a popular tourist landmark in the region.
Since its opening, the renowned bridge has featured in the annual awards of several top news outlets. Indeed, it was chosen among the world's best travel photos of 2018 by CNN Travel, the World's 100 Greatest Places by Time magazine, and among the Pictures of the Year 2018 by Reuters.
During the awards ceremony held on December 16, an additional six other Vietnamese representatives were also honoured, namely Hotel de la Coupole - MGallery, JW Marriott Phu Quoc Emerald Bay, Sun World Fansipan Legend, Van Don International Airport, InterContinental Danang Sun Peninsula Resort, and Premier Village Danang Resort.
Launched in 1993 the World Travel Awards described as the "travel industry's equivalent of the Oscars" acknowledge excellence in the travel and tourism industry.
