Workshop oriented tourism product development for Con Dao

Currently, the policies of our country in tourism industry focus on developing islands tourism, which are accompanied by incentives policies for tourism investment projects as incentives on land, water, import and export tax, corporate income tax. The Prime Minister has approved the scheme of economic - social development Con Dao district, Ba Ria - Vung Tau by 2020 with perspectives, objectives, tasks, solutions and development orientation to build Con Dao becoming a modern economic- tourism zone having high-quality services, special products in the Asia region and worldwide. Nowadays Con Dao tourism has developed in some areas, but it has not grown as strong as desired. Tourists’ stay in Con Dao are still short, because Con Dao only has some historic places and landscapes. Con Dao has no more outstanding tourism products, not many entertainment places, not enough to compete with the developing of  sea tourism areas such as Nha Trang, Phu Quoc ..

Nang Con Dao travel services companyis located in the Con Dao district. This company is planning to fund for“The famtrip program”, with the topic “Orientation of  development Con Dao’s tourism products ". This has a particularly important meaning of attracting more visitors to Con Dao. This is also to promote tourism products of Con Dao Sea, to attract domestic and foreign tourists and contribute to Con Dao become an attractive destination. In addition, through this program can put a unique position in the heart of visitors. In this seminar, more than 30famous enterprises in the field of tourism attended. Representative of Unesco travel club in Hanoi was Mr Le Dai Nam - Head of External promotion - Director of Vietnam Tourism JSC - Head of the Delegation. Representative of Hanoi enterprises was Ms Truong Thi Soan - Chairman of ManagementBoard of Tourism Vinatourist.  Enterprises in Thanh Hoa  sent Mr Do Hoang Huu - Chairman of ManagementBoard of Huu Nghi Travel Company.  Kieu Huynh Anh Tuan - Head of Domestic from Tourism Company Vitour was Da Nang’s representative. Ms Le Thi Kim Chi - Head of the local travel, came fromVietnam Travel Mark travel company and many representatives from other tour operators. In addition, Famtripteam invited reporters of VOV2 and Vietnam Business Forum for recording and reporting.

During the period of seminar, businesses and local government discussed deeply the orientations and measures to promote the development of tourism products of Con Dao in the near future. Many measures gave to develop tourism products, such as product classification by  type, sex and age; customer classification to orient segments; plan to change beach areas into amusement and sea food parks, while ensuring hygiene; create a tight connection among tourism companies, tour operators and local authorities to step up tourism promotion. They need to pay attention to the training and fostering human resources for tourism, improve their services  and quality of facilities. Some comments suggested decorating the wharf, planting flowers on the roadside to Dam Trau beach. These will attract tourists come totake the photos. They should develop tourism products such as educating tourism, build tourism program for learningthe history and culture towardsthe young generation. To build specific products of Con Dao parallel todevelop complementary products such as shopping services, souvenir, karaoke ... And a lot of other ideas frombusinesses.
