The Department of Tourism in coordination with the People's Committee of Con Dao district and Vung Tau Tourism College has just held the closing ceremony and granted certificates of training and supplying knowledge of ecotourism, community – based tourism for on-site guides from agencies, travel agencies, restaurants, hotels in Con Dao district.
Taking the on-site tour guide course, the trainees could learn and research 4 topics including World tourism background; the political, social, economic, and tourism situation of Vietnam; a method for on-site guides; the qualities and standards are required to become a successful on-site guide.
For the knowledge training class on ecotourism and community – based tourism, the trainees were taught the following topics: Principles of responsible tourism for the ecology and community; marketing and communication of ecological tourism, community tourism; responsible tourism supply chain; responsible accommodation services, management of power and waste; community action on responsible ecological tourism; management of ecotourism and community-based tourism.
Besides, learners have also equipped knowledge about forest and sea ecological tourism routes and attractions in Con Dao National Park; the historical cultural and spiritual relics in Con Dao district.
Through the training, guides, reporters, employees of travel agencies, units, and companies, restaurants, hotels in Con Dao district are strengthened and updated knowledge and skills for on-site guides and ecotourism and community–based tourism. From there, this knowledge is applied to the practice of serving tourists, in order to improve the quality of Con Dao tourism services associated with the preservation of traditional cultural history, protecting natural resources, and sustainable development.
At the end of the training course, the Organizing Committee granted certificates of training for 39 trainees and vocational training certificates of knowledge of ecological tourism and community-based tourism to 28 students.
